'It' is Taking Over!

For the first time I am already seeing that this baby has a mind of its own. I am not a picky eater! If I have leftovers for every meal 3 days in a row it doesn't bother me....it's just food...until now! For breakfast I always eat, a small thing of Dannon yogurt and a fruit & nut granola bar....ALWAYS! As of this week neither will be on my grocery list for a while, they just don't taste good anymore. Chocolate doesn't even sound good...wait a minute...this could be a good thing! Luckily my cravings this week are for watermelon, tomatoes, pickles, and pizza...at least 3 out of 4 are healthy!

I had already heated up my Lean Cuisine for lunch yesterday and one of the other teachers walked in with pizza from our cafeteria. Until now I wouldn't be caught dead eating school pizza(it's nasty). It was all I could do not to jump up and throw my healthy Lean Cuisine away and go get some greasy, doughy, school pizza! If that doesn't prove that this child hasn't taken over my taste buds I don't know what will!

I'm sure that these cravings will change from week to week...so this could get interesting!

Yes, pregnancy will leave you with some very opinionated taste buds. With Laine I wasn't very picky but fruit was a must. with Bowen I couldn't eat anything tomato based without having a foul after taste in my mouth. So no chili, spaghetti etc for my pregnancy. Another bad dislike with Bowen was vegetables...they just didn't sound good, I made up for it with fruit though. Ohh and milkshakes, maybe that's why I gained more with Bowen, no veggies and lots of milkshakes. Did you get a camera?

Another thing that will happen is the shift between pregnancy hunger and breastfeeding hunger (if that's what you decide to do). You will go from wanting very particular let's say a taco from taco bell and a burrito from Rosa's to all-encompassing hunger, hunger so great you will eat anything and lots of it.

When I was pregnant with Heather I couldn't drink anything but water! That was a really strange phenomenon....being the coke/dr.pepper lover I am! Then, with Mere, I couldn't eat anything sweet. Wierd things our bodies do to us!
